Lukoil Academic evened their record in Group H at 1-1 with a dominating 109-65 victory over Artland Dragons in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia. Lukoil's newly-acquired playmaker William Deane did a marvelous job running the show for coach Zeljko Lukajic's team with 16 points and 12 assists. The Bulgarians had a number of weapons as Pero Antic poured in 24 points; Nenad Canak had 23 points; Donta Smith collected 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists; while Murilo da Rosa chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds. Lukoil, who shot 62% from the field and out-rebounded the Germans 42-24, play at Benetton Tamoil next week. Coach Chris Fleming's Artland Dragons dropped to 1-1 in their debut season in Europe with their worst game of the season. The Germans shot 35% for the game and Adam Chubb was the top scoring starter with nine points. Lamont McIntosh and Terrance Thomas both hit for 11 points off the bench for Artland, who host ASK Riga next week.

Da Rosa scored on the first possession for Lukoil, who fell behind 8-9 after Thomas scored his sixth point for the Germans. Antic answered for the Bulgarians with 10 points in an 18-0 run for a 26-9 advantage. Artland stayed in the game as McIntosh knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to start a 4-13 surge and pull within six points and the deficit was 32-24 after 10 minutes. Artland coach Fleming saw his team pull back to 39-30 before the hosts finally began pulling away. Stevin Smith and Canak both hit threes in a 12-5 run which made it 51-35 and Lukoil led 62-41 at the break. Riste Stefanov drained two treys and Donta Smith and Canak each added one in a 19-4 run to close the third period with Lukoil up 84-48. Artland had no fight left in them and Canak's three-pointer finished off a 14-4 surge for a 98-52 advantage with five minutes remaining. The lead hit 47 points - 105-58 - in the final minutes.
