Amazing Madrid provides showtime, thrashes Efes

Real Madrid remained undefeated in Group B and provided plenty of showtime at both ends by simply overwhelming Anadolu Efes Istanbul 103-57 in the Spanish capital on Wednesday. Madrid leads Group B with a 5-0 record, while Efes dropped to 3-2. Ioannis Bourousis paced the winners with 17 points on 3-of-3 three-point shooting and 7 rebounds. Sergio Rodriguez needed less than 20 minutes to score 14 points and dish 11 assists, many of them feeding teammates for jaw-dropping alley-oop dunks. Nikola Mirotic and Jaycee Carroll also had 14 points apiece, Sergio Llull added 10 while Felipe Reyes pulled down 10 rebounds for Madrid. Scotty Hopson led Efes with 13 points off the bench. Head Coaches

LASO, PABLO
Real Madrid
"Congratulations to my players; our intensity level was tremendous all 40 minutes long. As for this game, we keep playing at a very high level and that hurt our opponent a lot. We are playing at a level that is hard to catch up with and our good defense allowed us to run, get fast break points and play on the open court. We played with a lot of intelligence on offense, attacking some of the players we had scouted before the game. The final scoreboard reflects that we were the better team tonight."
MAHMUTI, OKTAY
Anadolu Efes Istanbul
"Congratulations to Real Madrid, its coach and its players for this win. My duty is to prepare my players to face this kind of games, but nothing went well on the court. I have been coaching for many years and I understand that losing games is part of life, but the attitude we had on the court tonight was a whole different thing."

Players

CARROLL, JAYCEE
Real Madrid
"We won in rebounds by a lot, which is very important, and dished many assists, which shows we had a lot of fun. It is difficult to do this because of our opponent's defense. We have a good vibe in the locker room and that is seen on the court, too. It is really fun to play with Sergio Rodriguez. He is playing very well the last few years. You always have to be ready because you never know when he will pass you the ball. You have to keep looking at him at all times because he always finds somebody with an open look. We are closer to finishing first in this group, but every game is important."
RODRIGUEZ, SERGIO
Real Madrid
"It is very important for us to work hard and have fun to win games, to enjoy every action of the game. We are doing that and have to keep doing it. I always enjoyed playing, but there are good and bad times. I have to work hard and keep in mind that you can always improve in everything if you work hard and knowing that everything is complicated. We have a long, beautiful season ahead of us. We have been playing together for a long time. We know each other well and that we have to improve; it is a long season. We have to keep our feet on the ground. This is an important step. We have to stay undefeated at home and try to compete hard on the road. We will be fine as long as we can defend our home court. I am definitely in the best moment of my career."
VASILEIADIS, KOSTAS
Anadolu Efes Istanbul
"It was our worst game of the season. Nothing went well for us. When we were losing by 20, we kept missing easy layups and also open shots. We have to bounce back and try to win the next game. It is logical to lose against Madrid on the road, but not by almost 50 points. We have to go back to Istanbul and work harder to get ready for the next game."
