Behind a monster game from Vasilije Bacovic, Buducnost Voli Podogrica led from start to finish to defeat Partizan NIS Belgrade 68-60 and claim the fifth place at the Belgrade NIJT Qualifying Tournament on Sunday. Buducnost finished the tourney with a 2-2 record, while Partizan had a win and three losses. Bacovic paced the winners with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 6 blocks and 5 steals for performance index rating of 49. Aleksandar Novosel added 20 points for Buducnost. Ivan Bojanic led Partizan with 14 points plus 9 rebounds, while Milos Glisic and Vanja Marinkovic scored 12 apiece. Buducnost took control of the game from the start, as Bacovic and Novosel scored all the points in the opening 14-2 run. The duo scored all but 2 points in the first quarter, as Buducnost had 26-15 after 10 minutes. A basket-plus-foul followed by a triple from Marinkovic cut it to 29-23 in the second, but Filip Bakic answered with a three-pointer and Bacovic scored 6 more points for 40-29 halftime lead. After the break, Ognjen Carapic and Novosel extended it to 48-33, but Bojanic and Nikola Tanaskovic helped Partizan close within 50-45. Buducnost, however, never relinquished the advantage as Partizan did not come any closer rest of the way. Novosel hit from downtown at the end of the third, and Andjelic early in the fourth, to spark and cap an 11-2 run for 61-47, and Buducnost never looked back.
