INSEP bounced back from its first loss at the Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Classification Tournament Belgrade-JCT by edging Union Olimpija 66-61 at Basket Land on Saturday. INSEP will fight for fifth place against Brose Baskets tomorrow at 09:30 CET, when Olimpija will also look for its first win against Alba Berlin. Anthony Racine led the winners with 15 points. Ham Jaiteh added 13 for INSEP. Jusuf Nurkic led Olimpija with 13 points. Emir Sulejmanovic added 12 while Jules Akodo and Matic Rebec and Jules Akodo each had 10 for the Slovenian powerhouse.

INSEP had a strong start, as a layup by Luidgy Laporal gave his team a 7-3 lead. A 0-7 run that Sulejmanovic capped with a three-point play soon gave Olimpija a 7-10 edge, enough for his team a 13-14 edge after 10 minutes. Akodo and Rok Cindric shined early in the second quarter to make Olimpija get a 13-21 margin. Charly Pontens downed back-to-back triples but Akodo and Rebec soon made Olimpija get a double-digit lead, 23-34. INSEP got within 29-34 at halftime and a three-point play by Jaiteh tied it, 47-47, late in the third quarter. racine and Jaiteh kept pacing INSEP and led their team to a 60-53 edge with over 4 minutes to go. Olimpija got within 60-57 but a jumper by Alexandre Chassang and free throws by Racine allowed INSEP to win the game.
