U18 FC Barcelona Lassa took a big step to returning to the final of the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Ciutat de L’Hospitalet by fending off debutant U18 Promitheas Patras 104-84 for a 2-0 record in Group B. David Font led the way for the 2016 continental champs with 26 points on six three-pointers while Pavle Title scored 22 points. Luka Samanic chipped in 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks for reigning ANGT L’Hospitalet champ. Promitheas dropped to 1-1 in the group despite 20 points from Chrysostomos Sandramanis.

Barcelona gave Promitheas a big punch to start the game with a 13-3 lead. But the debutants countered with an 0-11 run thanks to seven points from Sandramanis to go ahead 13-14. Barcelona reclaimed the lead and was up 20-16 after 10 minutes. Promitheas trailed just 28-21 before Barcelona tallied seven straight points and then Barcelona went on a 10-0 surge to go ahead 47-25. Erik Kall picked up four points and the lead was 56-31. Barcelona was up 60-35 at intermission. Promitheas tallied the first seven points of the second half and the gap was 60-42. The Greek team could only trim the deficit to 17 points a couple of times in the third quarter as Barcelona remained in control and was up 82-65 after 30 minutes. Promitheas cut the margin to 82-72 with the first 7 points of the final period but Font hit a three-pointer to start a 9-2 spurt to create a cushion and then he nailed three more triples in the final 2 minutes to finish off Promitheas.
