FC Barcelona Regal is the second finalist in the 2013 Nike International Junior Tournament following a 74-55 victory over INSEP Paris in Group B of the competition on Saturday afternoon at the London Soccerdome in London, England. Barcelona finished Group B with a perfect 3-0 record and downed INSEP to 1-2. Tomorrow Barcelona will take on Club Joventut Badalona in the grand final of the event, that will take place on the floor of the Final Four games at The O2 noon time. The teams have met earlier this season in the NIJT qualifying tournament of L'Hospitalet in the semifinals and Joventut won 66-58 to later win the title. Marc Garcia led Barcelona with 21 points, M. Draskovic added 19 points and 13 rebounds while Adria Cantenys collected 16 points. Damien Inglis topped the score sheet of INSEP with 15 points and added 9 boards while Ywen Smock scored 14 points. Barcelona left very little place for doubts and with an 11-2 first quarter run took a 21-12 lead after eight minutes. Xavier Moix scored four points in a row to make it a 13 point game, and the teams entered the locker rooms separated by 10 points, 38-28. Inglis scored from the arc and Smock dunked to reach double-digit points as INSEP cut the gap to only 3 early in the second half, but Cantenys and Draskovic pushed the gap back to double-digits in a matter of minutes, and INSEP was down by 8, 57-49 entering the closing quarter. Draskovic and Cantenys joined forces once more to push the gap to 65-49 midway in the fourth quarter and that was already too much for INSEP to create another comeback.
