FC Barcelona Regal earned its first win in the 10th Nike International Junior Tournament in its last game in Group A on Saturday afternoon at Abdi Ipekci arena in Istanbul, Turkey. FCB-Regal beat Anadolu Efes Istanbul 87-63 to take a 1-2 record in Group A while Efes finished the games with 0-3 record. Ludde Hakanson led the winners with 25 points and five three pointers, Oriol Pauli scored 22 and Nick Spires finished with 10 points. Without two of its best players - Cedi Osman and Tayfun Erulku - Efes had a difficult time to match-up with the strong opponent from Barcelona. Bayrak Yildizi had 13 points while Efekan Cosar and Ilker Er added 11 each. Yildizi cut the margin to just 17-16 with 3 minutes to play in the first quarter before Pauli and Didac Cuso led Barca to its first double-digit lead. Yildizi once again pulled his team close to just 33-31 midway in the second quarter and the two teams went neck to neck for long minutes. Yet Hakanson and Pauli stepped up in the first minutes of the closing period and created another double-digit gap, caused by a series of turnovers by Efes, to decide the game.
