U18 Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius improved to 2-0 in Group B at the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Kaunas with a comfortable 52-81 victory over U18 Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul. Rytas was paced by Deividas Sirvydis with 22 points while Sarunas Valunta chipped in 11 points and Jonas Paukste collected 7 and 12 rebounds in the win. Fenerbahce dropped to 0-2 despite 20 points and 8 rebounds from Saadettin Donat while David Mutaf had 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in defeat.

The game was even at 5-5 and Rytas put on the pressure with Sirvydis scoring 7 straight points in a 3-17 spurt to go ahead 8-22. The lead was 12-23 after 10 minutes. Fenerbahce was able to trim the gap to 16-23 but Rytas poured it on again with another 3-17 surge to go ahead 19-40. And the advantage was 24-44 at halftime. Rytas would not let Fenerbahce get back into the game with Sirvydis and Gedimina Mokseckas hitting three-pointers as the lead grew to 30 point, 28-58. Donat tried to make it closer, scoring 13 consecutive points for Fenerbahce in cutting the gap to 40-64 after three quarters. Rytas’s reserves left no doubt in the fourth quarter with a 2-9 spurt to open a 45-76 lead and make sure that the game was decided.
