Zadar started strong and never looked back as it polished off ASK Riga 83-68 to wrap up a berth in the Last 16. Zadar improved to 4-2 and finished the regular season in second place behind Maroussi Costa Coffee in Group A. Riga dropped to 3-3 and saw its Eurocup dreams die. The hosts dominated the first period using a 10-0 run as part of a 25-6 opening that gave Riga little chance. The visitors closed the gap to 43-30 at halftime thanks to Uvis Helmanis’s shooting and got within 11 early in the third period, but Zadar bounced back behind Hrvoje Peric and Todor Gecevski to restore the 19-point gap and Riga never got close to single digits again. Juby Johnson and Tomislav Ruzic paced the winners with 14 points each, Gecevski added 13, Rok Stipcevic scored 11 and dished 6 assists and Peric added 10 points. Raitis Grafs and Helmanis netted 14 apiece in defeat and Ernests Kalve and Dairis Bertans added 11 each.

Grafs opened the scoring for Riga on the offensive glass for what would prove to be the visitors only lead of the game. Peric came right back for Zadar with a triple, Johnson scored off a steal and Gecevski capped a 10-0 charge from downtown. Grafs scored again for ASK only to see Gecevski fire in another bomb and then dish to Johnson to give the hosts their first double-digit lead. A Bertans bucket didn’t deter Zadar as Stepcevic hit a three and scored a second-chance basket to make it 22-6 after 10 minutes. Deyan Ivanov made it a 19-point game early in the second period before Riga got its wind and started to make some shots. Andrius Mazutis, Sandi Valter and Helmanis all made three-pointers, though Zadar continued to score as well, keeping the lead at 15. Stipcevic increased it to 37-19 and Ruzic upped it to 41-22, but back-to-back Helmanis threes made it 43-30 at halftime.

Grafs brought the visitors within 11 at the stat of the third period, but Gecevski and Peric came to the rescue for Zadar. Johnson free throws made it a 19-point lead again A pair of Bertans baskets helped cut the deficit to 13, however a Stipcevic three and a Basket by Peric sput 62-45 on the scoreboard by the end of the third period. Grafs continued to battle for points, but Zadar always had an answer. Ruzic and Jere Macura kept the lead safe. A Johnson three with three minutes to go took the lead to 20 points and signaled time for the home team to celebrate a spot in the Last 16.

"We achieved one of the team's goals for this season - to go to the second round of the Eurocup. And we will go on with our high goals, we want to go on into the Final Eight. Today's game, we opened it very good, and very strong, we showed who is the boss. We played hard in both ways - offense and defense. This was a very good team game. We have some things to fix, and with every game that will come I hope we will play better and better."
