Chorale Roanne registered its second consecutive win and rejoined the Top 16 race in Group C by edging Brose Baskets Bamberg 84-81 in Clermont Ferrand, France on Wednesday. Chorale improved to 3-5 and could tie for the fifth place at the end of this week. Meanwhile, Bamberg dropped to 1-7 and needs a major turnaround to keep its Top 16 dreams alive. Marc Salyers led the winners with 28 points, including 6 three-pointers in 7 tries, and 7 rebounds. Brion Rush added 25 points while Pape Badiane had 10 for Roanne. Hamann joined the three-point shootout to tie the game again, 57-57, after 30 minutes.

Garrett nailed a corner three-pointer to put Bamberg back ahead, 57-60. "It was a big win because we had problems with a couple players, Ron Hale and Laurent Cazalon, who couldn't play. So we had to play with seven or eight players, and a couple of them had a tough first half, which made it hard on them after that. But we fought to the end and had a great last three minutes, which made it a great win. Bamberg play solid defense, but we did so good at end, and I'm happy with that. That's the first time we've been up by three and I decided to foul. Usually we don't foul, because I prefer to play defense and trust in that. But this time I did it for the first time and it worked good. I don't think I'll do it again, but it was a good move this time. Now we've got to play against Partizan, and we'll have no pressure."

"It was one of those things where it came down to the end of the game, and in the last two minutes, everything had to go perfect for us - and did. It was their game to lose, really, and we just did what we had to. We have to wait until after next game to start talk about a Top 16 race. But if we can go to Belgrade and get a win, we can seriously start to think about it. For now, though, it's just two wins in a row. There's a long way to go."
