Valencia signs Quinn to sub for injured Kelati
Chris Quinn - Eurocup Champion 2011-12Valencia Basket lost one reigning Eurocup champion and replaced him with another. Small forward Thomas Kelati suffered a muscle tear in the right thigh in practice on Wednesday and will be out 4 weeks. Valencia acted quickly to find his replacement and inked Chris Quinn to a 1 month contract, thus re-uniting the two players months after winning Eurocup crown with BC Khimki Moscow Region. Quinn (1.88 meters, 29 years old) averaged 7.7 points and 2.6 assists in 16 Eurocup games last season. He previously played for San Antonio, Miami and New Jersey in the NBA since finishing his college career at the University of Notre Dame. He was chosen to the All-Big East first team in 2006 and has taken part in 239 NBA games. Quinn is due to arrive to Valencia on Sunday, but it remains to be seen if he will be registered in time for the team's Eurocup opener on Tuesday against visiting BK Banvit Bandirma of Turkey.
