Veljko Mrsic resigned as the head coach of Cibona Zagreb following his team's Adriatic League loss this weekend. After Mrsic's resignation, the reigning Croatian champions temporarily promoted Danijel Lutz into the head coaching position. He will lead the team in its Eurocup clash against Cholet Basket on Wednesday. Lutz, 33 years old, has been a long-time assistant coach at Cibona. This will be his second stint in a head coaching role with the club after having been in a similar situation a year ago. Under Mrsic, Cibona opened the season with a 4-6 record in the Adriatic League and 0-3 in the Eurocup. The team is currently on a six-game losing streak in both competitions.
