The last player to join PBC Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar this season has been chosen the Eurocup Final MVP. Richard Hendrix arrived to Lokomotiv Kuban midway through the Last 16, right before the final deadline for Eurocup players in the 2012-13 season. Lokomotiv's great move paid off in the final, as Hendrix was all over the place at the RTL Spiroudome, leading his team in scoring (14), rebounds (9) and performance index rating (25). Hendrix already had 10 points and 7 rebounds at halftime, allowing Lokomotiv to get an eight-point lead, 30-38, which was decisive for his team to lift the trophy at the end of the night. He hit 7-of-10 two-point shots and added 2 steals, 2 assists and a block to round out a great individual performance. Hendrix has averaged 10.4 points and 5.5 rebounds in 8 Eurocup games this season, but saved the best for last.
In just four seasons in European club basketball. Hendrix has gone from a promising power forward to one who has challenged for every available continental title. Hendrix played college basketball at the University of Alabama and played for two NBA Development League before joining Spanish side CB Granada in 2009-10. A solid season (13.1 ppg., 6.9 rebounds) allowed him to sign a two-year contract with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. He helped Maccabi to make it to the Euroleague title game in 2011, winning back-to-back Israeli League and Israeli Cup titles in his two seasons in Tel Aviv. Hendrix started this season with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano but joined Lokomotiv in January - just in time to help his team reach the final, lift the Eurocup trophy and earn the title-game MVP honor as voted by more than 100 assembled media!
