Two of the deepest sides in the Eurocup square off for a single ticket to the quarterfinals. Both Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem and ratiopharm Ulm rely on deep rotations with many players that could rise to the occasion on any given night. Jerusalem thrived in the Last 32 by banging inside; it was that phase’s leader in both rebounding (36.7 rpg.) and two-pointers made (165). The team also tied for the Last 32’s fewest turnovers (10.5 TOpg.). All told, Hapoel placed first in Group M after ranking second in team performance index rating (101.5). Ulm promises to be a tough for since it too can attack the glass – it ranked fifth in offensive rebounding (11.3 orpg.) – and stood out as one of the best three-point shooting teams; (62 made at 44.0%). A look at their results shows some interesting similarities; when scoring more than 80 points, Jerusalem is 6-1 this season and Ulm is 6-0. However when opponents surpass 80, Jerusalem is 2-3 and Ulm 2-4. And when limiting opponents to fewer than 75 points, Hapoel stands at 6-0 and Ulm 5-1.
