Two classic Eurocup teams meet again for the first time since 2005. Unics arrives to the elimination rounds with a 15-1 record and won its last 11 Eurocup home games. Only Andre Goudelock (18 ppg.) and Ian Vougioukas (12.9 ppg.) have scored in double digits, which say enough about its great team effort. The team is full of experience with four former Euroleague champs plus previous Eurocup winner and MVP Chuck Eidson (7.8 ppg.). Experience leads to few turnovers, just 11.3 per game until now. Nymburk reaches the Eighthfinals with an 8-8 record, but has been able to win all critical games down the stretch. It features two of the competition's all-time top 10 scorers, Rado Rancik (second, 1,094 points) and Tre Simmons (10th, 814), as well as stretch-four Dylan Page, who leads the Eurocup in three-point accuracy (57.4%) this season. Nymburk leads the Eurocup in least offensive rebounds allowed (7.6 orpg.) and Unics is one of the leaders in defensive rebounds (25.6 drpg.). As such, the battle under the boards will arguably be the biggest key to this series.
