Both teams faced each other in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season, in which Zvezda beat Rytas twice. Rytas tied for fewest turnovers in the Last 32 (10.5 TOpg) and had the best assist-to-turnover ratio (193.7%) in this phase, to which former Zvezda playmaker Omar Cook (7.7 apg., 1.3 TOpg.) contributed greatly. Martynas Gecevicius (14.5 ppg., 53.6% 3FG), Renaldas Seibutis (14.2 ppg., 94.6% FT) and Juan Palacios (14.3 ppg., 6.5 rpg.) have been Rytas's main pillars until now. Coach Dejan Radonjic has a balanced squad to work with featuring three scorers in double figures (DeMarcus Nelson 14.3 ppg., Charles Jenkins 13.3 ppg., Rasko Katic 10 ppg.) and five more averaging at least 7.5 points per game.
