After one of its best seasons this century, Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir is heading into the new campaign with the same floor general. The club announced Monday that it has re-signed veteran point guard Bobby Dixon to a one-year extension. Dixon (1.78 meters, 31 year old) has spent the last two seasons with Karsiyaka, leading it to its first trophy in 27 years, when it lifted the Turkish Cup last season. Dixon also led the team to the Last 32 in its Eurocup debut, posting some of the best numbers in the competition. He was ranked fifth with 18.2 points per game, sixth with 5.5 assists, he was second with 3.44 three-pointers made per contest, and he averaged 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. Before coming to Karsiyaka in 2012, the experienced playmaker also played with St.Etienne, BCM Gravelines, Le Mans, Dijon and Asvel in France, Polpak Swiecie in Poland, as well as Benetton and Brindisi in Italy.
