Perennial Romanian League champion CSU Asesoft Ploiesti made its first offseason moves by extending contracts with swingman Jonte Flowers and guard Levente Szijarto for one more year. Flowers (1.96 meters, 29 years old) missed most of the last season with a torn Achilles tendon, but still made a great impression in the games he did play. In his Eurocup debut, the opening game of the regular season, he scored 18 points with 5 assists, 5 steals and 4 rebounds against Khimki Moscow Region. He got hurt in Round 2, and spent more than six months away from the court, just to return for the Romanian League playoffs, and help the team to the title. He previously played with Solna Vikings in Sweden, Vichy and Hyeres-Toulon in France, and Kataja in Finland.
Szijarto (1.92 meters, 32 years old) appeared in 9 games, mostly coming off the bench, but did not score a point in the 2013-14 Eurocup campaign. However, Szijarto is a club legend who has spent 10 of his past 11 seasons with Ploiesti, and has over 350 appearances for the club. He has also played for Timisoara, West Petrom Arad and Cluj, and has lifted 11 Romanian League titles and 5 Romanian Cups during his career.
