Pallacanestro Cantu found a new combo guard for the upcoming season in Darius Johnson-Odom, who signed a one-year deal with the Italian powerhouse this weekend. Johnson-Odom (1.87 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Philadelphia of the NBA, where he played two games last season. He started the 2013-14 season with Sichuan Blue Whales of China before joining Springfield of the D-League, where Johnson-Odom averaged 22 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 27 games. Johnson-Odom has also played for Spartak St. Petersburg of Russia, Los Angeles of the D-League and Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA.
"Johnson-Odom is a classic combo guard who can play either at the playmaker or the shooting guard positions," Cantu sports director Daniele Della Fiori explained. "He is a great athlete and his ability to create shots for himself and his teammates makes him really dangerous on offense."
