Belgacom Spirou puts Dowdell at point

Belgacom Spirou Charleroi found a new point guard in Zab Dowdell, who inked a deal with the Belgian powerhouse on Tuesday. Dowdell (1.84 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, where he averaged 12 points and 3 assists in 3 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. When L. Rytas joined the 2013-14 Eurocup, Dowdell averaged 6.8 points in 8 games. Dowdell has also played for Gran Canaria and Unicaja Malaga in Spain, Anadolu Efes Istanbul in Turkey, Phoenix of the NBA, Tulsa of the D-League, Casale Monferrato in Italy, Enisey Krasnoyarsk in Russia and Sluc Nancy in France. He helped Nancy win the French League title in 2008. Dowdell averaged 7 points in 6 games with Unicaja in the 2009-10 Euroleague. He also played the 2007-08 Eurocup with Nancy, averaging 11.2 points and 3.2 assists in 10 games.
