Ventspils lands Zanis Peiners

Latvian champ Venstpils announced on Thursday the addition of forward Zanis Peiners to a two-year deal. Peiners (2.08 meters, 24 years old) arrives from MBC Mykolaiv of the Ukranian League, where he ended up as the second top scorer of the season averaging 16.1 points per game. Peiners started his career in VEF Riga in 2009. In 2010 he played with Latvijas Universitate for three seasons before joining Mykolaiv. Peiners will be making his Eurocup debut with Venstpils this season.
