CSU Asesoft Ploiesti fortified its roster by signing veteran small forward Jarvis Hayes, who spent last season in Italy with Sidigas Avellino. The contract is for the remainder of CSU Asesoft’s Eurocup campaign, though the club retains the right to further extend the deal. Hayes (1.98 meters, 33 years old) averaged 9.4 points and 3.6 rebounds over 27 games in Italy. He played the early part of his career in the NBA with Washington, Detroit and New Jersey between 2003 and 2010. Hayes has since suited up for Aliaga Petkim in Turkey, Krasnye Krylia in Russia, Elitzur Ashkelon in Israeli and Avellino in Italy. Hayes also attained Qatari citizenship and represented that country in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championships. He is expected to debut on Wednesday against Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius.
