Galatasaray Cafe Crown has announced the arrival of point guard Can Akin, who inked a one-year deal with his new club with a team option to extend it until the end of the 2010-11 season. Akin (190, 26) arrives from Antalya Buyuksehir Belediye, where he averaged 11 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26 Turkish League games last season, helping his team to make it to the playoffs. He has also played for Efes Pilsen, Banvit, Turk Telekom and Yesilyurt in his native Turkey. Akin helped Efes to win the Turkish Cup title and has been a member of the Turkish national team. "It is a very good move for me, that finished ahead my former club, Antalya," Akin said. "I hope that Galatasaray returns to the Turkish League semifinals last season, as well as doing better in European club competitions."
