Banvit adds free-throw ace Baron
Banvit Bandirma has reinforced its backcourt for the race to reach the elimination rounds from Group H of the Last 32 by signing a former Eurocup champion, guard Jimmy Baron, on Monday. Baron (1.98 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Fuenlabrada of the Spanish League, which whom he averaged 12.3 points over 16 games this season. Barron was a double-digit scorer in each of the last two Eurocup seasons, his only ones in the competition. He put up 10.7 points per game while helping Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar win the title in 2013 and last season scored 13.5 on average in 10 games with Virtus Rome. Banvit will get a near-guarantee at the foul line in Baron, who made 58 of 58 free throws in his Eurocup career so far. No other player has made so many without a single miss in his career in the competition. Baron's younger brother, Billy, is debuting in the Eurocup this season for Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius.
