Nizhny Novgorod and team captain Semen Antonov reached a new agreement to stay together for two more years, until the end of the 2016-17 season. Antonov (2.02 meters, 25 years old) made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut last season, averaging 7.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in 24 games. He started his career with Avtodor Saratov and also played for TSU-Basket Tambov before joining Nizhny in 2010. A regular member of the Russian national team, Antonov has helped Nizhny reach the Russian Cup final in 2011, the Eurocup semifinals and the VTB league finals in 2014 and the Euroleague Top 16 last season. He helped Russia conquered back-to-back bronze medals at EuroBasket 2011 in Lithuania and the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England.
