Lietuvos Rytas adds scoring ace Gailius
Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius added fire power and experience for the upcoming future by signing shooting guard Deividas Gailius to a two-year deal on Tuesday. Gailius (2.00 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Neptunas Klaipeda, where he averaged 14.7 points and 4.8 rebounds in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. When Neptunas joined the 2014-15 Eurocup, Gailius went on to average 13.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 6 games. Gailius had joined Neptunas from Slovenian powerhouse Union Olimpija Ljubljana, where he averaged 16.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 16 Eurocup games in the 2013-14 season. He was born in Klaipeda and already played three years for Neptunas, from 2007 to 2009 and in the 2012-13 season, in which he averaged 15.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 18 VTB League games. Gailius has also played for Virtus Bologna in Italy, as well as for Siauliai and Nafta Universitetas in Lithuania. He is also a member of the Lithuanian national team.
