Nizhny Novgorod reached a new agreement with Evgeny Baburin to keep working together until the end of the 2017-18 season, the club announced Friday. Baburin (1.90 meters, 28 years old) averaged 4.9 points and 1.1 steals in 23 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season, helping Nizhny reach the Top 16. A homegrown talent, Baburin has played in Nizhny for the best part of his career and returned to the club in 2012 after two seasons with TEMP-SUMZ Revda and two more with Spartak Primorie Vladivostok. He helped Nizhny reach the VTB League finals and the Eurocup semifinals in the 2013-14 season.
"I am please to renew my agreement with Nizhny Novgorod for the same period of time I have already spent on this team," Baburin said. "I am glad to stay in my hometown and continue to help the team achieve success."
