Ahead of Eurocup return next season, Neptunas Klaipeda appointed Dainius Adomaitis as its new head coach on Tuesday. Adomaitis, who signed a two-year contract, has been voted Coach of the Year in Lithuania last season after leading Juventus Utena to the third place in the Lithuanian League. In the third-place best-of-five series, Juventus downed no other than Neptunas 3-2, and now 41-year old Adomaitis arrives to Klaipeda to replace Kazys Maksvytis. A former player, he won the Euroleague crown with Zalgiris Kaunas in 1999, and the Olympic bronze with the Lithuanian national team in 2000. Adomaitis also played in the Eurocup with BCM Gravelines of France and Barons/LMT Riga of Latvia. So far in his coaching career, Adomaitis was the head coach of Energa Czarni Slupsk and Anwil Wloclawek in Poland, and Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius in his native Lithuania.
