Steaua CSM EximBank Bucharest reached an agreement with swingman Levente Szijarto to work together next season, while extending contract with forward Bill Amis for another season. Amis (2.06 meters, 27 years old) averaged 12.8 points and 7.7 rebounds for Steaua last season. It was his third professional season after graduating from University Hawaii. He played for Tartu/Rock in Estonia, then took a year off from basketball before joining Kervanos from Cyprus, and Steaua last season. Meanwhile, Szijarto (1.92 meters, 33 years old) arrives from CSU Asesoft Ploiesti, where he played for 11 of the last 12 seasons. He averaged 0.5 points in four Eurocup games last season. He has also played for Timisoara, West Petrom Arad and Univ Mobiltelco Cluj Napoja in Romania. A Romanian basketball legend, Szijarto has won 12 Romanian League titles - 2 with West Petrom and 10 more with Asesoft. He also helped Asesoft win the FIBA Europe Cup title in 2005, as well as being a member of the Romanian national team.
