Two-time Eurocup champion Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius bolstered its frontcourt by bringing aboard center Arturas Gudaitis, who arrives from archrival Zalgiris Kaunas, the club announced Thursday. Gudaitis (2.08 meters, 22 years old) signed a two-year contract after two years that he spent with Zalgiris. Last season was his first full season in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, where he averaged 6.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 20 games. He significantly raised his numbers in the Top 16, when he posted 9.1 points, along with 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Gudaitis ranked as the fifth best per-minute offensive rebounder, 4.81 offensive rebounds prorated over 40 minutes, in the Euroleague last season. Prior to playing for Zalgiris, he also played in Lithuanian lower division teams Klaipeda LCC TU, Gargzdai Bremena, Laivite Klaipeda and Zalgiris-Sabonio.
