Besiktas JK bolsters frontcourt with Murphy
Besiktas JK Istanbul bolstered its frontcourt for the upcoming season by signing power forward Erik Murphy to a one year deal, club announced Saturday. Murphy (2.08 meters, 25 years old) has spent the last two seasons between NBA and NBDL in the United States. He started his professional career with the Chicago Bulls in 2013-14 and has played in 19 NBA games. Last season he spent with the NBDL side Austin Toros, where he averaged 11.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Murphy, who had a four-year career at Florida University from 2009 until 2013, is also a member of the Finland national team and has played at the 2014 FIBA World Cup. He is set to make a Eurocup debut next season.
