Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd has a new head coach for its return to the Eurocup as Kiril Bolshakov takes over at the bench, Russian club announced on Tuesday. Bolshakov arrives from BC Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye in his native Ukraine, where he spent last seven years. 52-year old coach led the club from second into the Ukrainian top division in his debut season, and has made playoffs in each of the following six campaigns, including trips to the semifinals in four of those years. Ferro-ZNTU also won two Ukrainian Cups – in 2010 and 2013 – the only two trophies in club history. Bolshakov started his coaching career with Vulkan-Dnipropetrovsk in 1989, and over the years has also led Azovmash Mariupol as well as Dnipro women’s team before taking over Ferro-ZNTU in 2008.
