Trabzonspor Medical Park brought back a familiar face into its backcourt signing veteran point guard Hakan Demirel, and added young small forward Gani Erdi Gulaslan to its roster. Demirel (1.88 meters, 30 years old) had a brief stint with Trabzonspor early in 2012-14 season. Last year he played for Usak Sportlif where he averaged 2.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the Turkish League. Demirel grew up with Tofas Bursa and made a professional debut with that club before he joined Fenerbahce Istanbul in 2005. He made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut a year later, and over a span of three seasons has played in 14 career games in the elite European club competition. During his career he also wore jerseys of Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul, Erdemirspor, Antalya and Royal Hali Gazientep, all in Turkey, and is now set to make his Eurocup debut. Gulaslan (2.02 meters, 21 years old) arrives from Aliaga Petkim where he averaged 3.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists last season. He previously played for Bornova and Ankara, both in his native Turkey, and will also make his Eurocup debut in the upcoming season.
