Last season's Eurocup semifinalist Banvit Bandirma put an experienced big body into the paint, bolstering its frontline with center Gasper Vidmar for the upcoming season, club announced on Wednesday. Vidmar (2.10 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul where he averaged 5.3 points and 8.7 rebounds in the Turkish League last season. Vidmar is a veteran of 102 Euroleague games over the span of seven seasons with three different teams – fellow Turkish sides Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul and Besiktas Integral Forex Istanbul, as well as Union Olimpija Ljubljana of his native Slovenia. He has Euroleague career averages of 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds. Vidmar grew up with Geoplin Slovan Ljubljana, and made his debut with Ekipa Jance STZ when he was only 14 years old. He joined Fenerbahce in 2007, and made his Euroleague debut the same year. Now, he is set to make his Eurocup debut.
