Banvit Bandirma added firepower to its roster by inking combo guard A.J. Slaughter on Thursday. Slaughter (1.91 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Panathinaikos Athens, where he averaged 9.7 points and 1.7 assists in 23 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. He helped Panathinaikos reach the Euroleague playoffs and the Turkish League finals. Slaughter shined in the 2013-14 Eurocup with Elan Chalon of France, for whom he averaged 17.1 points, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals in 10 games. He was the French League runner-up in scoring with 17.6 points and fifth with 4.6 assists over 30 games in that competition. It was Slaughter’s second season in France after playing the previous season for Cholet Basket. Slaughter previously suited up for Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Belgium and Angelico Biella in Italy. He has played a total of 22 Eurocup games for three teams over four seasons.
