Steaua CSM EximBank Bucharest continued piecing together a team that will compete well in the Eurocup this season and for years to come with two more signings on Tuesday. Forward Denis Ikovlev signed for the coming season and young big man Bogdan Popa penned a four-year deal. Ikovlev (2.00 meters, 29 years old) arrives from WKS Slask Wroclaw, for whom he averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 33 Polish League games last season. He also has previous Eurocup experience; Ikovlev reached the 2011 Eurocup quarterfinals with Budivelnik. He has also played for Ukrainian clubs Odessa, Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye, Khimik, SK Cherasky Mokeys and BC Donetsk during his professional career.
Popa (2.11 meters, 18 years old) arrives from Unicaja Malaga, whose junior team he has played for since 2013. He has played for the Romanian national team at both the Under-16 and U-18 levels.
