PAOK Thessaloniki reached an agreement with power forward Nikola Markovic to work together until the end of the 2016-17 season, the club announced Wednesday. Markovic (2.08 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Panelefsiniakos, where he averaged 11.3 points and 6.5 rebounds in 26 Greek League games last season. He has also played for KAO Dramas in Greece, as well as for Vojvodina Novi Sad, Radnicki Basket Belgrade, Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade, FMP Zeleznik Belgrade, Beovuk 72 Belgrade and ABS Primorje Herceg Novi of his native Serbia. He helped the Serbian U18 national team win a gold medal at the 2007 European Championships. Markovic also helped Serbia get a bronze medal at the 2013 World University Games. Markovic is set to play the Eurocup for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
