Banvit Bandirma added a presence to its frontline by signing big man Jackie Carmichael, who arrives from Israeli club Maccabi Rishon Lezion. Carmichael (2.06 meters, 25 years old) averaged 13.4 points on 57.5% shooting, 6.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game last season. He was a teammate there of another of Banvit's recent signings, shooting guard Dominique Johnson. Carmichael previously played professionally for Bilbao Basket of Spain and Iowa of the D-League. Carmichael enjoyed a standout college basketball career at Illinois State, where he finished as the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots with 200.
