Telekom Bonn keeps playmaker Lawrence
Telekom Baskets Bonn reached a new agreement with point guard Eugene Lawrence to stay together until the end of the 2016-17 season, the club announced Tuesday. Lawrence (1.84 meters, 29 years old) averaged 7.7 points, 6.2 assists and 2.2 steals in 10 Eurocup games last season. He ranked seventh in assists and third in steals at the end of the regular season. Lawrence also played the Eurocup with CEZ Basketball Nymburk of the Czech Republic, averaging 6.2 points, 4.2 assists and 1.4 steals in 14 games in the 2011-12 season. Lawrence has also played for Casta SPU Nitra of Slovakia, Prostejov of the Czech Republic and Hoverla Ivano-Frankivsk of Ukraine. He helped Nymburk win the Czech double - league and cup titles - in 2012 and also lifted the Slovakian Leagie trophy with Nitra in 2009. "For me, it is about loyalty. We have built up with a lot of mutual trust which can grow even further," Lawrence said. "With the club's professional structures its family environment, Telekom Baskets Bonn is the right place for me to face the challenges ahead."
