Dominion Bilbao Basket managed to keep a fan favourite player for one more season, as the club announced a new agreement with veteran playmaker Raul Lopez on Wednesday. Lopez (1.82 meters, 35 years old) is set to enter his fifth season with Bilbao. He averaged 8 points on 88.9% free throw shooting and 2.7 assists in 36 Spanish League games last season. He helped Bilbao reach the Eurocup title game in 2013, losing against Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. Lopez has also played for Joventut Badalona, Real Madrid and Akasvayu Girona in Spain, Utah of the NBA and Khimki Moscow Region of Russia. He helped Madrid win the ULEB Cup and the Spanish League titles in 2007, as well as lifting the VTB League trophy with Khimki in 2011. Lopez has been a member of the Spanish national team, helping it win a gold medal at EuroBasket 2011, a silver at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, and a bronze at EuroBasket 2001. He also led the Spanish U18 national team to win a gole medal at the 1999 World Championships in Lisbon, Portugal.
