Oldenburg, Aleksandrov agree to new deal

EWE Baskets Oldenburg and big man Nemanja Aleksandrov will spend a third season together after agreeing on a contract for the 2015-16 campaign. Aleksandrov (2.10 meters, 28 years old) averaged 9.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in nine Eurocup games and 10.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in 35 German League contests last season. He was also among the leaders in free throw shooting at 86.4% in the Eurocup and 91.8% in Germany. Once hailed among the top prospects in Europe when he came to the senior squad at FMP, Aleksandrov has since played for Crvena Zvezda Belgrade in his native Serbia, Union Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia, Scavolini Pesaro in Italy, Verviers-Pepinster in Belgium and Manresa in Spain.

"We are firmly convinced that Nema will be an important building block for our team. He performed well at the end of the season. We know his strengths, but also the areas where we want to work together," Coach Mladen Drijencic said.
