Union Olimpija Ljubljana added know-how to its roster by inking forward Sasa Zagorac to a two-year deal on Thursday. Zagorac (2.05 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Zlatorog Lasko, where he averaged 18.9 points and 7.7 rebounds in 29 Slovenian League games last season, leading the competition in scoring. Born in Ljubljana, Zagorac started his career with Olimpija and played in its first team in the 2003-04 season. He has also played for Birokrat SQL Ljubljana, Postojnska jama, Logo Grosuplje and Rogla Atras Zrece of Slovenia, Superfund Bulls Kapfenberg of Austria, Caja Rural Melilla, Gandia Basquet, Knet Rioja Clavijo and Coinga of Spain, Shiraz of Iran, as well as for Aget Service Imola and Banca Tercas Teramo of Italy. He helped Olimpija win the Slovenian League title in 2004 and has been a member of all Slovenian youth national teams, winning a gold medal at the 2004 U20 European Championships. Olimpija also announced that it executed its option to keep Blaz Mahkovic next season.
