Galatasaray completes signing of former Euroleague champ Dorsey
Galatasaray Istanbul completed the signing of former Euroleague champion Joey Dorsey on Monday when the player took his physical in Istanbul. Dorsey (2.03 meters, 31 years old) won the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague crown in the same city with Olympiacos Piraeus. He arrives from Houston of the NBA, where Dorsey tallied 2.7 points and 4.0 rebounds over 69 games last season. He has played a total of 130 NBA games over four seasons with Houston, Sacramento and Toronto as well as 49 Euroleague games with Caja Laboral Vitoria, Olympiacos and FC Barcelona. Dorsey returns to Turkey after finishing the 2012-13 season with Gaziantep, for whom he averaged 16.1 points on 66.0% shooting plus a league-best 12.3 rebounds. He also led the Turkish League in performance index rating that season with an average of 23.3 per game. Dorsey, whose trophy case also includes Greek and Spanish League titles, will make his Eurocup debut this season with Galatasaray.
