Steaua CSM EximBank Bucharest bolstered its frontcourt by inking big man Gerald Lee to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Lee (2.08 meters, 27 years old) arrives from UCAM Murcia, where he averaged 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 13 Spanish League games last season. He started the 2014-15 season with CSU Asesoft Ploiesti, averaging 13.7 points and 3.9 rebounds in 14 Eurocup games before joining Murcia. Lee also led the team in the 2013-14 Eurocup last with 15.5 points and 7.3 rebounds, while also dishing 1.3 assists coming off the bench. He scored more than 20 points in four regular season games, and posted performance index rating higher than 20 in six contests, including 24 points against Pinar Karsiyaka, and 31 PIR against Igokea Aleksandrovac. This will be Lee's fourth campaign in the competition, after also reaching Eurocup Quarterfinals with Buducnost VOLI Podgorica in the 2012-13 season. During his career, Lee also played in Udine and Veroli in Italy, as well as Korihait, club he grew up with in his native Finland. Lee helped Buducnost win the Montenegrin League title in 2013 and also lifted the Romanian League trophy with Asesoft in 2014.
