ALBA Berlin added depth to its roster ahead of the upcoming Eurocup season by signing a one- year deal with swingman Marc Liyanage, club announced on Saturday. Liyanage (1.98 meters, 25 years old) arrives from fellow German side Mitteldeutscher BC where he averaged 3.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in German League action last season. Liyanage, who previously also played with lower division clubs BG Goettingen and Duesseldorf, has spent this preseason with ALBA, and coach Sasha Obradovic liked what he saw from him. "Marc has left a very good impression in the preseason and integrated very quickly. We are delighted that he is now an integral part of the team. He will help us to stabilize the team", Obradovic said.
In another move, the club from the German capital parted ways with forward Ivan Aska who signed earlier this summer.
