Nizhny's Eric Maynor out until March
Nizhny Novgorod playmaker Eric Maynor will be sidelined long terms due to a severe knee injury, the club announced Tuesday. Maynor got injured in the first official game of the season, in which Nizhny beat VEF Riga 75-87 in the Latvian capital. MRI tests revealed an anterior cruciate ligament fracture in his left knee, which will keep him sidelined for at last 6 months. As such, Maynor will miss the Eurocup regular season but may return to action during the elimination rounds if Nizhny goes past the Last 32. He already had the same injury in his right knee three years ago.
