Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius promoted Arvydas Gronskis to be the new head coach on an interim basis, the club announced Friday. Gronskis, 41, arrives from Rytas's farm team, Perlas Vilnius, where he was the head coach. He takes over for Aurimas Jasilionis, who was also manning the bench on an interim basis since the team fired Marcelo Nicola last month. The club continues its search for a permanent replacement. Gronskis played for fellow Lithuanian side Sakalai in the late 1990s and the early 2000s and has been coaching ever since.
