ALBA Berlin signed combo guard Robert Lowery through the end of February, with an option to extend their relationship for the remainder of the season, the club announced Tuesday. Lowery (1.88 meters, 28 years old) steps in as a short-term replacement for injured guards Jordan Taylor and Niels Giffey. He arrives from AE Nea Kifisia Dimoulas Athens, where he averaged 16.2 points and 5.2 rebounds in six Greek League games this season. Lowery started his career in Germany with Saar-Pfalz Braves of Germany and has also played for Levharti Chomutov in the Czech Republic, Best Balkesir Basketbol Kulubu of Turkey, Lighthouse Trapani of Italy, ASA Koroivos Amaliadas of Greece and VEF Riga of Latvia, which he helped win the Latvian League title last season. Lowery also lifted the NIT trophy with the University of Dayton in 2010. He will be eligible to make his Eurocup debut with ALBA in Last 32 Round 4.
