Strasbourg's Eurocup hopes suffered a blow when it learned that big man Matt Howard will miss six weeks with a broken bone in his left hand. The injury occurred late in the team’s French League victory over Monaco on Monday night. After further evaluation by the team's medical staff, he was diagnosed with a fractured second metacarpal, which will sideline him for six weeks. Howard, 27, will miss the Eurocup Quarterfinals and – if the team advances – the semifinals, too. Howard has been one of Strabourg’s most important players this season and averaged 9.9 points and 9 rebounds in seven Eurocup games. He was the eighthfinals rebounding leader with 22 rebounds.
