Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar added Eurocup experience to its roster by inking combo guard Evgeny Baburin to a three-year deal on Monday. Baburin (1.90 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Nizhny Novgorod, where he averaged 9.6 points on 40.2% three-point shooting and 1.6 steals in 17 Eurocup games last season, helping his team reach the quarterfinals. He has been with Nizhny for nine seasons in two stints - from 2002 to 2008, and then from 2012 until this summer. He helped Nizhny reach the Eurocup semifinals and the VTB League finals in 2014, as well as making it to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 in 2015. Baburin has also played for TEMP-SUMZ Revda and Spartak Primorie Vladivostok of his native Russia. He helped Primorie win the Russian Superleague title in 2011 and has also been a member of the Russian national team. "I am happy to play for Lokomotiv Kuban. I think 'Loko' is developing very actively in Russian basketball - not only due to its sports success, but working with its fans and in several social projects," Baburin said. "This is a great responsability and a new challenge in my career, but I am confident that hard work will help me contribute to the club's continious success."
